We are pleased to give you some news of the study on natural history of pancreatic serous cystadenomas performed under the auspices of IAP. The study is progressing very well. A total of 57 centres have become participants and we have already collected 767 inclusions since the opening of the study.

The organisers of a meeting on Pancreatic Cancer to be held Salerno Italy from June 20-21 would like to invite members of the IAP to attend. The meeting aims to bring together some of the major world experts int he field to discuss progress in diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic adenocarcinoma and the development of novel diagnostic approaches and innovative therapies.

The IAP is now preparing to initiate, promote and support intercontinental studies on pancreatic diseases and would like to offer members the opportunity to submit a study protocol to the Scientific Subcommittee of IAP Council. If accepted by Council, the IAP will send your protocol to all IAP members to invite participation and patient recruitment. The aim of this process is to increase the possibilities for patient recruitment to large international studies.

As you know, the IAP will hold our joint meeting with the American Pancreatic Association in Miami at the end of October. The meeting will be held at the Eden Roc Hotel from October 31st until November 3rd and will bring together Pancreatologists (medical pancreatologists, endoscopists, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, oncologists and basic scientists) from all over the world to present and discuss current clinical and laboratory research related to the field.

The 2012 Annual Meeting of the American Pancreatic Association (APA) to be held jointly with the International Association of Pancreatology (IAP) will take place at the Eden Roc Renaissance in Miami Beach FL from Oct 31-Nov 3. The meeting will include several mini-symposia in addition to abstract driven sessions including a symposia on Pancreatic Stem Cells and Stellate Cells (organised by Minoti Apte and Diane Simeone on Saturday Nov 3) and a consensus conference open to all participants to update the 2002 IAP Evidence-Based Guidelines on the Management of Acute Pancreatitis (on Wednesday 31st October).
